Mission Statement


We, the body of Christ at Easter Hill United Methodist Church (EHUMC), believe that all persons should be aware of god's redeeming love as revealed in the scriptures.

In light of our belief, the mission of EHUMC is to develop, strengthen and renew the urban community by serving as a change agent for individuals and families through a Christ-centered, family-oriented, multi-generational and socially-active ministry which encourages spiritual formation, discipleship and community outreach as an extension of power and presence of God.


Goals


In light of our mission, EHUMC is committed to the following goals:

  1. Develop adjunct staff of lay personnel to support the pastor.

  2. Develop new and creative ministries which focus on bible study, prayer, worship and spiritual growth.

  3. Develop or strengthen and renew creative ministries for all age levels.

  4. Develop or strengthen and renew creative outreach ministries in evangelism, missions, social concerns and education.

  5. Strengthen and renew the United Methodist tradition and experiences.


Ministries

TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY

  1. Van will not be used for travel outside the State of California except with recommendation of Transportation Ministry and Approval of the Board of Trustees.
  2. Van may be used to pick up ambulatory seniors or disabled person (van is not wheel chair accessible), youth and children for Sunday Worship Service, church events, church activities or other church related functions.

VAN WILL NOT BE USED FOR LESS THAN 5 PASSENGERS!!!

Procedure for pick up:

  1. Pick up for Sunday Church services must be requested no later than 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. NOTE: If less than 5 requests for transportation to Sunday Service, transportation will be arranged via Transportation Ministry with use of Church members’ private vehicles.
  2. Requests for transportation to other church related activities must be made two weeks prior to the date needed. NOTE: A nominal fee may be charged based on the actual cost to operate the van.
  3. Requests to use the van to transport Easter Hill members to events & outings must be made two weeks prior to date needed. NOTE: A nominal fee may be charged based on the actual cost to operate the van.

NOTE: Passengers must be on time. There will be a 5 minutes grace period from the scheduled pick up time. Driver will not wait more than 5 minutes.

ALL DRIVERS OF THE VAN MUST HAVE PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE TRUSTEE BOARD. ALL DRIVERS MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE. NAME OF DRIVER MUST BE SENT TO THE CHURCH INSURANCE CARRIER PRIOR TO THE DRIVER ACTUALLY DRIVING THE VAN.
